We only get one chance to preserve irreplaceable historic artifacts, remains, and resources. ESA’s cultural and historic resources team gives voice to those whose voices have been lost to time. We study who and what came before so that we can share our rich and diverse history, insights, and lessons to inform the future.

Our team consists of experts with years of boots-on-the-ground experience providing the full breadth of cultural resources management services. We are well known for preparing efficient and effective documentation in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), along with comprehensive coordination with state and local preservation organizations and other stakeholders.

ESA offers highly qualified experts in technical analysis of cultural resources for compliance with state laws such as the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), as well as local planning policies and code requirements. We also provide mitigation monitoring services to document, preserve, and interpret cultural and historic resources for future generations.

With a full complement of archaeologists, field monitors, architectural historians, paleontologists, and preservation planners, we offer a broad range of skills and techniques to Native American communities, local governments, and state, federal, and private-sector clients in compliance with cultural resources regulations.
