ESA’s Community Development team in the Pacific Northwest continues to grow with the addition of Katie Carroz, AICP, who has joined the team as Senior Environmental Planner in Seattle, Wash. Katie’s arrival to the firm is on the heels of key additions to the growing practice including Shannon Wages and Tim Sturtz, PhD.
“Katie will be bringing her 19 years of planning experience and taking on project management across the spectrum of our portfolio of work, including general community development projects, transportation-related and energy projects, and SEPA and NEPA documentation,” said Pamela Xander, Director of Seattle’s Community Development group.
Katie’s technical expertise also includes a specialty in providing socioeconomic and environmental justice analysis for environmental review documents, which will be a key component of her new role. She has provided NEPA, SEPA, and CEQA environmental planning and permitting services for more than 70 proposed projects, including transportation, energy, community development, and natural resources projects.
Katie holds a Master of Arts in Natural Resource Economics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado College.
