ESA is pleased to announce three recent promotions in the Southeast Region: Julie Sullivan has been promoted to Strategic Business Development Director, Doug Skurski has been promoted to Southeast Regional Director, and Chris Warn has been promoted to Southeast Biological Resources Director.

“Julie, Doug, and Chris exemplify the best of ESA, and I’m excited and grateful to have them stepping into their next roles on ESA’s Senior Leadership Team,” said ESA CEO Leslie Moulton-Post.

Julie Sullivan

Julie takes on the new position of Strategic Business Development Director, in which she will harness her 27 years of leadership, client-focused perspective, and environmental and regulatory expertise to drive strategic business development firmwide. A veteran practitioner in the AEC industry, Julie is renowned for her ability to understand client needs; build close, personable, and attentive relationships with clients; and foster collaborative partnerships with teaming partners. In this role, she leads ESA’s efforts in business development as we work to solve our clients’ biggest environmental challenges.

“This was a natural evolution for Julie as she has a deep commitment to delivering the best for ESA clients and employee-owners alike,” said Moulton-Post. “With her clear strategic eye, tremendous energy, and client-focused perspective, she will strengthen ESA’s abilities to meet our clients’ biggest environmental challenges and continue to enhance our professional client relationships—that’s what project success is built on.”

Doug Skurski

With more than 24 years of experience as an environmental project manager, Doug is a recognized industry expert. He is known for his expertise in Florida’s ecology, his keen insight into balancing natural resource conservation with project development, and his ability to anticipate and meet client needs. As ESA’s Southeast Regional Director, he will lead strategic operations and business development to execute key business sectors across Florida and the Gulf, continuing growth in the team and in the expertise and capabilities needed to serve our clients.

Chris Warn

Chris is a principal environmental scientist and project manager with more than 26 years of experience in coastal and watershed studies, management, and restoration. As Southeast Biological Resources Director, Chris will oversee the region’s largest practice, which consists of environmental scientists, biologists, engineers, and technical experts specializing in environmental planning, permitting, restoration, water quality, and land management. He brings valuable experience working throughout the nation on complex environmental projects, including the emergency response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and he has supported a wide range of environmental programs, from Everglades restoration to port deepening and expansion projects.

“The promotions of Julie, Doug, and Chris really define an important leadership transition for ESA,” said ESA COO, Eric Haase. “Throughout the course of their careers at ESA, these industry leaders have taken on numerous regional operational responsibilities, leading business plan development, and participating in strategic planning activities, and have been strong advocates of ESA’s employee-owned culture committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Their leadership will help us continue to drive strategic thinking and action to meet client needs, diversify our business, and enhance our scientific expertise.”
