In his role as liaison between biologists and web developers, George uses his 15 years of experience in biology and data science to deliver analytics functionality in our software and ensure it aligns with scientific standards and best practices.

He has participated in many studies related to salmonid habitat and populations in the Pacific Northwest including roles as field manager, statistical analyst, and co-author. This may include managing collected data in MS SQL Server databases, writing SQL queries requested by biologists, and developing data models as new types of data are collected.

He also has a background as a business analyst and software developer, enabling him to bring cross-disciplinary expertise to his work. For example, George uses his specialty in data visualization to create proof-of-concept web applications providing user interfaces for exploring data through tables, graphs, and maps. He manages client engagement on project requirements related to data science, and he is our resident expert in the statistical programming language R.
