Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading environmental consulting firm, is pleased to name three new vice presidents: Terri Avila, Community Development Practice Leader; Dana McGowan, RPA, Cultural Resources Practice Leader; and Elizabeth (Betty) Andrews, PE, Senior Program Manager.
“Terri, Dana and Betty have contributed significantly to ESA’s success – initiating, catalyzing, and leading efforts to deliver responsive client service and high quality work on complex projects including the Candlestick Point-Hunters Point Shipyard, California High-Speed Rail, and the Mid San Joaquin Regional Flood Management Plan,” said Leslie Moulton-Post, ESA’s President. “As we look to the future, this group exhibits the integrated perspective and commitment that are the hallmarks of our leadership team.”
Terri Avila is ESA’s Community Development Practice Leader and brings more than 30 years of award-winning experience in environmental consulting and natural resource planning. She’s worked on many of California’s most notable CEQA, natural resources, transportation, and permitting projects from communities in Orange and Los Angeles Counties to the Central Valley, and throughout Northern California. Terri works out of both the firm’s Los Angeles and San Francisco offices.
Dana McGowan is ESA’s Cultural Resources Practice Leader and brings more than 34 years of experience managing cultural resources. Dana spent more than a decade on the San Francisco Transportation Authority’s Doyle Drive replacement project and has been heavily involved in the 520-mile California High-Speed Rail project. Dana is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.
Elizabeth (Betty) Andrews brings 36 years of experience collaborating with clients to address river and water management challenges. Her experience includes paradigm-changing work in floodplain restoration, explicitly recognizing the important role inundation plays in food web support, and contributing to groundbreaking water management programs, such as accounting for water use under the Central Valley Project Improvement Act and providing technical support for stakeholders of the Yuba Accord, an innovative water management strategy. Betty is based in the firm’s Petaluma office.
