With almost 20 years of experience performing fieldwork, research, analysis, and writing about archaeology and anthropology, Evan provides an in-depth understanding of the intersection of cultural resources and federal, state, and local environmental regulations in the western United States. He regularly leads projects, supervises field efforts, conducts archival and ethnohistorical research, and prepares recommendations on the eligibility of cultural resources for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR).
Evan is also experienced in performing Native American consultation and coordination and has worked with tribes to identify and protect their culturally significant places. Among his primary responsibilities is preparing technical reports and compliance documents that emphasize compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA), the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), and other state and local regulations.
Working with public and private clients, Evan has successfully moved projects to completion in a wide variety of industries and areas, especially those in water, renewable energy generation and transmission, transportation, vegetation management, and habitat restoration.
