Flood & Stormwater Management
With rising sea levels and increasingly extreme storm events adding to the current flood risks and regulatory drivers, the importance of designing multi-benefit solutions that provide resilient habitat and flood risk reduction is becoming more and more apparent to coastal, valley, and floodplain communities everywhere.
We have led, designed, and implemented a wide range of multi-benefit flood and stormwater management projects, ranging from coastal flood assessments, to river levee setbacks and floodplain restoration. Whether developing shoreline and coastal plans or sea-level rise adaptation assessments to aquatic habitat assessments along river corridors, our team of expert designers and engineers develop strategies for these important natural systems.
Working beyond traditional single-objective flood management plans for river corridors and coastal shorelines, our sustainable flood management strategies create added value as habitat enhancement projects.

The Central Valley, an enormous landscape feature dominating the state of California, experiences devastating floods on a fairly regular basis. It produces 25 percent of the nation’s food (including 40 percent of the nation’s fruit, nuts, and other table foods) from less than 1 percent of U.S. farmland, making it an agricultural powerhouse.
