Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Michael Houlihan, AICP has joined the firm as Principal Managing Associate. Michael will be based out of our new Irvine office to better serve our Orange County client base.

Michael has been a trusted environmental planner and project manager in Orange County for more than 30 years. From planned communities, water/wastewater infrastructure, community land use planning, residential/commercial developments, parks, schools, transportation/circulation improvements, and energy facilities, his experience includes managing all aspects of the environmental compliance process. He has lead numerous project teams for clients including the cities of Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Orange, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, and Yorba Linda. Additionally, Michael has provided environmental compliance services to the Orange County Water District, City of Corona Department of Water and Power, San Gorgonio Pass Water Agency, City of Bakersfield, County of San Luis Obispo, City of Fresno, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Michael holds a bachelor of science in city and regional planning from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association and the Association of Environmental Professionals.
