Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading community planning and environmental consulting firm, welcomes Shannon Bottenberg to its Northern California team. Bottenberg’s project management experience is centered in the energy market, specifically in developing energy generation projects across the United States in both the public and private sectors.
“This industry is constantly evolving, and so it keeps me on my toes,” Bottenberg says as she reflects on her career. “I became a consultant because I’m passionate about solving problems and achieving results that others believe to be impossible.”
Specializing in the routing and siting of utility-scale energy projects, Bottenberg has supported the development of dozens of projects that are now in operation. She has authored hundreds of technical and environmental documents, working with agencies and leading multidisciplinary teams to construct extra-high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and renewable energy plants, including wind-, solar-, and battery-storage plants.
Bottenberg holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and is working toward a Master of Science in Earth & Environmental Engineering and a certificate in Business Analytics.
