Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading environmental consulting firm with five offices in Northern California, adds Linda Peters as Principal Associate to the region’s growing team. Recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Business in 2018 by the San Francisco Business Times, Peters most recently worked for AECOM where she directed its San Francisco Bay Area Cities Program and held a key role on its Pacific Region Growth Team.
“Linda’s leadership, strategic vision and client-oriented focus align with our efforts to strengthen ESA’s presence working for the most important and influential clients on the most significant and consequential projects in Northern California,” said Brian Boxer, ESA Senior Vice President and Northern California Regional Director. “Throughout her career, Linda has led and collaborated on projects for clients in the transportation, water, high-tech, federal and energy markets – all of which are key strategic markets for our firm.”
Working from our San Francisco office, Peters will lead and support some of ESA’s most strategic initiatives. She will lead ESA’s effort to increase the firm’s technology client portfolio, working with our current high-tech clients and project leaders and sharing her expertise in strategic Site Selection/Due Diligence for mission critical development for technology companies (e.g., data centers). In the Transportation sector, Peters will work throughout the company leading complex federal Department of Transportation Section 4(f) studies. And, as the firm opens a new office in San Jose, Linda will serve as a key partner alongside John Bourgeois, the region’s Restoration Ecology Program Manager and San Jose Office Leader.
“I am excited to join a growing team of passionate, highly-respected environmental professionals focused on addressing our region’s most complex issues and delivering the highest profile projects,” said Peters. “ESA—a successful 100% employee-owned business celebrating its 50-year anniversary—demonstrates the power of collaboration and science to deliver work that matters.”
With a B.A. in Anthropology from Arizona State University, Peters began her career as an archaeologist before rising to leadership positions in large multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering firms for the last decade. She brings more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience, including development of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) reports, providing environmental studies for a wide range of clients including Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), numerous Departments of Transportation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), along with many private clients. This diversity has afforded her opportunities to provide strategic analysis and planning to navigate complex regulations across the U.S.
