Linda Amato Joins ESA as Northwest Transportation Director

Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce Linda Amato, AICP, has joined the firm as the Northwest Transportation Director. She will be based in the firm’s Seattle office, providing leadership on projects as well as strategic initiatives to continue ESA’s decades-long expertise with transportation clients.

“Linda will play an instrumental role in expanding our multifaceted transportation practice, and with her leadership we can better leverage our planning, engineering, and environmental science expertise to serve  our transportation clients,” said Margaret Clancy, Northwest Regional Director. “Linda’s expertise in managing the environmental components of complex projects strengthens our capabilities in transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, transit, and rail.”

With a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from George Washington University, Linda enjoys working with multiple local jurisdictions and getting to know the communities involved in each project. She brings more than 30 years of experience in managing complex, transportation-focused environmental documentation and leading public outreach efforts throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Her extensive National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation projects have included the full spectrum of environmental consulting services, including Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs). Linda has also managed and prepared numerous Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents for transportation and other infrastructure projects.

She has worked with federal, state, and regional transportation agencies, including the Departments of Transportation in Washington State and California (WSDOT and Caltrans). Her most notable projects include the Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview, WA, Export Terminal NEPA and SEPA EISs, WSDOT’s Amtrak Cascades Intercity Passenger Rail Program Planning and Environmental Documentation, California High-Speed Rail  EIS/EIR, and the South Access to the Golden Gate Bridge Presidio Parkway EIS/EIR in California.
