Julie Watson, AICP, LEED AP Joins ESA

Environmental Science Associates (ESA), a leading California environmental consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Julie Watson, AICP, LEED AP has joined the firm as a Senior Managing Associate in our Energy Group.

"Julie’s depth of experience and intricate understanding of the planning, documentation, and compliance for energy and transmission projects compliments ESA’s growing team of technical experts," said Mike Manka, Energy Director.

Julie brings more than two decades of experience managing the preparation of detailed NEPA and CEQA documents for energy development and transmission, transportation and transit initiatives, public utility infrastructure, solar and renewable energy, and resource protection projects. Experienced in both the public and private sectors, Julie brings a comprehensive understanding of fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and cooperative process among all project stakeholders to ensure project success. Julie has worked with clients including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, California Public Utilities Commission, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Pacific Gas & Electric, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and several private energy developers.

Julie holds an Executive Certificate in sustainable management from the Presidio Business School. A Master of Science in landscape ecology and management from the University of London, England and a Bachelor of Science with Honors in biological sciences and ecology from the University of Sussex, England. She is an American Institute of Certified Planners and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional. She is a member of the International Institute of Sustainability Professionals and the Association of Environmental Planners.
